Our Vision:
"We envision a world of acceptance, access, independence and self-determination for all."
End of Vision
Advocacy Network
Are you interested in making a difference in your life and the lives of others with disabilities? Do you want to have an impact on local and statewide issues? Do you want to be involved with others who work at making a difference in their community? If so, then the Delta Center’s Advocacy Network is for you!
Supporters and Partners of the Delta Center for Independent Living are invited (and encouraged) to participate in the Advocacy Network. Our seasoned Advocacy Trainer provides relevant information and encouragement by sending weekly emails, facilitating monthly conference calls, providing training and setting up meetings with legislators and other officials who have the means to impact our lives.
Members of the Advocacy Network discuss and address critical issues like; accessibility, transportation, Medicaid (MO HealthNet) spend down, access to dental care, housing, food stamps and much, much more. With a list that grows monthly, the Advocacy Network hopes to have a membership of 1000 by the end of 2010!
Advocacy Network members receive ongoing training, meet and talk with regularity, and have an annual opportunity to travel to Jefferson City and meet face to face with the legislators who serve us.
